It’s by now an open secret that we are going back to Japan this year!
In fact, if everything is following the plan, we are right now flying over there. Excitement! We have been saving for a 2-week overseas travel for a while, and have been going through our travel wishlist non-stop, even creating budgets for a couple of them: checking hotel prices, flights, and so on! my travel budgets (and maps) are pretty much a work of art, ha! kidding… well… Daniel, my mom and auntie always tease me about how I should open a travel agency. Would you hire my services? *wink*
Destinations (outside Europe) like Australia and US are always on our top, but after postposing both until Daniel has more road experience (don’t think it super wise to be our third outing in a foreign country), a big thought went from my heart to my head: Japan, I need Japan.
The minute we started telling people that we were going back to Japan there were quite a few of eyes rolling, and a lots of “again?” The “let’s put new pins on my map” is definitely something I don’t share, is it truly better to only visit a place once, and then cross it from your life forever? It doesn’t make sense to me, specially when my previous experiences in Japan are something I cherish every minute. Is really a 2-3 week travel enough to be able to think you have seen all a country can offer? Don’t think so, we have been a total of 1 month in Japan already (with our two previous visits) and the list of interesting things left to see would fill pages. I really don’t judge at all, I totally get that some people get a rush of seeing new things all the time, but why it seems weird when you hold on to your love for a little longer?
Now, I am curious, which type of traveller are you?
Another question we get quite often is: are you visiting the same spots all over again? Well, the simple answer is no, while it’s not completely accurate. We are going to Tokyo & Osaka again, and will be visiting, of course Shibuya & Namba (to mention two fav districts from each of them), so yes? but we are mainly visiting new places even in Tokyo & Osaka, and even more for the rest of destinations. Check below our route!
- Tokyo
- Miyajima
- Osaka
- Koyasan
- Yunomine Onsen
- Tokyo
There will be surprises to the route, from now you can follow all our Japan adventures through the Instagram stories, so stay tuned there for them! We’ll make sure to bring back lots of beautiful memories to share with you all in the blog. Do you have any special request? Would you like that we bring back the Japan goodies giveaway post?

Oh my gosh I’m so excited for you! I can’t wait to see your posts about it… Will you be doing a post about your budget tips? My hubby and I want to travel more in future but having trouble when it comes to finding cheap, but good, options.
YAY!! I’m so glad you guys are going back to Japan!!! Be still my beating heart. Ben wants to go back again and my brain tells me I need more pins :P It’s only because I haven’t seen much of the World but find myself revisiting Japan. It’s just so darn magical though and always so much more to explore!! I’m honestly a little giddy thinking about your posts to come and watching your insta stories *big smiles*
You Instagram Stories got me all lately! Looking forward to your posts here I love that you both went for the temple stay and cycle a lot. I’m jealous! ;)
I hope you had a great time in Japan! My family and I somehow always go back to Japan over winter break, and yet it seems that we never know what to do once we get there except eat! Maybe it’s not a matter of not being able to find anything to do, but a matter of not being able to find anything that EVERYONE wants to do :P And also a matter of not planning ahead hehe. I think we would definitely benefit from your travel agency ;P -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
