During our three days in Los Angeles we stayed in a Venice beach apartment rented through airbnb. It was our first time renting via airbnb but were convinced to try because on one hand it allowed us to cut on travel expenses (important on a 15 day trip!) and on the other staying by the beach sounded very attractive. We also had read that this was a nice neighborhood with good eating options, and that it was important in Los Angeles to choose a good one (some friends of friends had security problems in certain areas as happens in big cities, such as Barcelona as well!).
The apartment was simple, airy, clean and nice: great score! Although we did not walk around a lot (our movie obsession had to be attended :P) we liked the surroundings and the 30 minute walk to the beach on the last morning, just a few hours before leaving to Arizona, left us the best taste of the city.
Our Venice experience would not be complete without mentioning our favorite breakfast spot: The Groundwork coffee company in Rose Avenue. I tried for the first time the Iced chai latte and fell in love with it :) I’m a tea girl without hesitation, but I do not warm a lot for its iced variations; this completely sold it for me :) There were lots of cheerful locals buying in the coffee shop that told us that we had chosen the best coffee place in town which was really reassuring (I know they may were over selling it, but…yeeei!).
Follow our steps and let’s go to the beach together!
** This post is part of our US road trip series **
The apartment was a wooden house in the backyard of the main house, I felt as living in a tree house (neat!)
Here the proof of our Iced chai madness :) two regular, one soy plus Anna’s sleepy face (and mine!)
They had lots of cookies, croissants and other pastries, all of them had the same price so you can pay before deciding. It was really convenient in the morning (our sleepy heads appreciate!)
The most beautiful wall in Venice beach, or so I thought. Do you also share my pattern love? :)
A laundry in pink, you can tell for my pose I was maybe too excited about it.

I know I kind of sound like a snobbish European person, but everything does look very American. Not in a bad way though, and you guys make it seem really cool too. That coin laundry is kind of perfect, as are your shoes! :D
:) I guess our eyes tend to go to the things we find more different from here in Europe. Happy that you share my love for the laundry!
