We still have a few more pictures left from our day at El Mercat del Born that we thought it would be fun sharing. Moreover it gives me the opportunity to ramble a little bit about our weekends in January.
Do you spot Dani’s jumper in the pics? It is a sale score of his. He usually waits until the sale season to get new clothes, I guess it’s one of the perks of being a boy; they do not have to worry a lot about pieces being sold out before the discounts begin.
Lately he is putting more thought in his buying choices, maybe some clothing style questions of our recent interview had something to do about it? ;) He has decided to buy more colorful pieces and step a little outside his comfortable zone, hence the new jumper! I love his current (as our friend Albert would say) troll hunter style (sorry I couldn’t resist that reference) but I give him the thumbs up for trying new things. We’ll see what comes of it; I will not let my nostalgic-self interfere with that, promise :)
In a fun note his jumper is in fact the first men capsule collection, called “boyfriend”, from a Spanish label called Kling which I wear quite often. The collection is intended to be both for boys & girls, and is only composed by sweaters, those that in women fashion are called boyfriend sweater, you know which ones! The collection is so new that the reality is that there are not any boys trying the clothes inside the store, so he turned a lot of heads when he was (very) resolute to the fitting room while I kept telling (very) loud: “How nice is this BOYFRIEND collection, right?” and Dani was redder than the sweater itself.
A part from some sales’ shopping we have been caught in the road to the Oscars film premieres. I don’t know if the same thing happens everywhere, but during January (and the first weeks of February) we are completely saturated with all the Oscars movies arriving to the theaters at the same time. The exception this year has to be Gravity which was a fall movie. Apart from that one we have already seen the Wolf of Wall Street and August and we are really looking forward to Her (Spike Jonze with Joaquin Phoenix sounds good) and Nebraska. Have you already seen all the nominees (or some of them)? Which ones would you recommend us most?
How are your weekends like in January? We are mostly at home & at the movies, but I am looking forward to more dates like el Mercat del Born!
This is the opposite view to the market, La Rambla del Born.
My faux fur detachable collar comes from Japan! It was in fact part of a cape coat, but I think it looks good with this retro looking green coat as well.
My mom and Dani gave me the Cambridge satchel bag for my birthday (this is 11 inches, you can find a 14 inches version here); it is personalized with a short version of my name.
It is an upside down regular diamond sweater, so it is kind of reversible if you are in the mood for a more classic look.
I swear I have more shoes than the pink moccasins, but the green and pink combo was too strong to resist :)
And finally a little sun came out, so we started to move quickly and excited to take advantage of it.
We were so excited that we grabbed the attention of some cool kiddos that were wearing costumes while skateboarding and who insisted on taking a picture with me. I am not the cool type of girl, so that’s me failing to pretend :)
“Troll Hunter style” haha, love it! And that green coat is almost too lovely. You’re right, the faux fur collar complements it perfectly. I am very behind on movies this year, but hopefully Rick and I will see Wolf of Wallstreet this week, even though I am not a bit Leo fan (don’t hate me).
Hahahaha, I guess it’s not popular to say that you are not a Leo fan, but don’t worry lots of people have told me the same when I tell them we have already seen the movie. Hope you can tell us if you liked it or not, it is a really quick, rough, non-stop trip (pun intended).
Thumbs up for Dani to make a turn for more
color in his wardrobe! The sweater looks good
on him!
I lovelove your bag and the cute shoes! And
so nice that the ‘cool kids’ willing to take this
awesome picture with you! I’d love to have
us in a picture as well :P
Maybe someday! Xx
Oooh! Thanks! I will be also very happy to have a picture of us together ♥ I will let him know that you like the sweater, it will give him confidence in that new color territory :)
I love that last photo! How sweet that they wanted to jump in on the fun!
The faux fur collar is so pretty with that jacket :)
Thanks Katzi! I think they were disappointed to only get one picture :P
Awww beautiful Damaris in pink and green!:D and beautiful gift… I’m after that bag since months but i didn’t buy it yet :(
You should get it, the materials & finishes are good! Glad that you also like the pink & green combo :) Thanks Nadia
ahh you guys rock! I need to take a page out of both your books and be more adventurous with my outfit – Damaris you are totally cool by the way :)
Love the personalised bag and the sweet change room story :) I was in a thrift store with Ben and saw this crazy shirt and told him he had to buy it and now whenever he wears it I smile. I’m not sure he exactly likes it and I’m not usually a demanding girlfriend :P but the fact that he even wears it at all, I think is super nice :)
Ben is such a nice guy! love that he didn’t hesitate to purchase it, no matter how crazy he may thought it was (Although I’m pretty sure it was a really cool one if you had your eye on it!). Btw, have we seen the shirt in your pics? I would love to know which one is! :)
oh so lovely! your hair style is the absolute best.
xx
Thanks for the compliment! A hair appreciation really makes a day for a girl! :)
Haha I love the reason why Dani chose to wear more colorful this time :)) Go boi!
And I really like your collar and coat, you even cannot be more cute in these pieces <3
We went to El Mercat del Born when we were in Barcelona, I was having so much fun there. Also Passeig del Born which is close to here (I guess) was may favorite district at nights! Thanks to you guys, I feel nostalgic about Barcelona, 5 minutes ago I looked at pics taken there.
Can I ask something I wonder, do you sometimes go to Bar Marsella or it sounds so touristic thing for you?
Hugs.
Happy to know that it makes you want to look back at your Barcelona pics! :) :) We do not go often to Bar Marsella because it is usually a little away of our routine places, but it is near “la Filmoteca” movie theater (if I’m not mistaken), so we should definitely give it a try when we go to a movie there. A big hug!
Upss I checked now on map, this place I’d visited wasn’t El Mercat del Born, it was just El Born :)
And I forgot to write; I can’t wait to watch Nebraska and Her. There are many good -positive reviews about these movies, so exciting! It’s coming to movie theaters soon here, and yes it’s the same about Oscar relate movies in Istanbul too :)
Hahaha, don’t worry! It’s so easy with foreign names to be mistaken. Fun to know that it happens the same with the Oscar movies in Istanbul! Hope we can exchange impressions about Her and Nebraska when we got to see them (not released in Spain yet, I guess in a week or two :P). Kisses!
i love your green coat and the faux fur (yay that it’s faux!) – your pink shoes are a perfect combo :)
Hahaha, I really like the last picture. And what a great gift to get, the satchel I mean! I looks gorgeous with your coat!!
omg when i saw your coat on instagram i totally thought the faux fur was part of it! that’s so cool that’s it’s a detachable collar. it totally goes well with this beautiful coat. also i’ve sooo jealous of that beautiful satchel!!
