Swing

Couldn’t help but have the Jungle Book tune in my head all the time, so had to start the post with that line. Do you remember our Pals getaway when Dani got his license? We didn’t went directly to Pals after renting the car, instead we headed to this little place we had in our bucket list: the swing with a view.

A few months ago I discovered this place in Barcelona (I think via Instagram); some reporters kept telling that the swing wasn’t always in the place when they got there and in addition we learnt that it wasn’t easy to reach with public transport. I wasn’t super into the idea of getting a cab with the risk of finding that the swing had been removed, so when we rented the car we both knew that we were going to make a first pit stop before driving to our “real” destination.

The swing is located near “Mirador de Mundet”, there’s a parking lot and from there a (quite) steep trail to the top of the mountain (15-20 minutes), where the swing hangs from a single big tree. The views all the way up are the real attraction but the swing adds so much charm. I definitely send a super big thumbs up to the people who have installed it (thanks!) and encourage everyone to be very gentle with it, so lots of people will be able to enjoy this small moment of magic and childhood nostalgia. Also, be aware that the swing surface is a little slippery, be cautious!

The swing has this plaque with Barcelona’s skyline and the words “Un lloc des d’on veure els teus somnis” which translates to “A place where to look to your dreams”. Isn’t it pretty?
