Spring is all about flowers and pastel colors. Let’s face it, although some of the fashion gurus persist year after year on trying to change that (this year black and white squared patterns are on trend, what? :) ), after the long months of winter we are all craving for flowers, sun and some good pastel colors, just before the fluor colors of summer come.
Our visit to Parc de Cervantes (Barcelona) is the perfect excuse to populate this blog with some more spring flavour. Also known as Parc de les roses, it is a beautiful cozy park up in the Avinguda Diagonal. It’s pride & glory spot is the roses garden, with 150.000 roses blooming each year from May to July. In fact, since 2001 it holds every year an International Competition of new roses, the park becomes a showcase of new creations for Mediterranean climate breeders around the world.
This last weekend the new season began officially and with it the starting signal of the competition. Although you will surely have to get round some flowers enthusiasts with tripods ;) the smell and the beautiful colors are definitely worth the visit!
