Today we have a very long title to start this week with a giant jump of joy. We were contacted by the uber-talented Alicia - and I like to believe that also a little crazy cat lady herself - to publish a couple of our pictures from last Festivalet fair as part of their new craft book and of course we first screamed with excitement and then immediately agreed with more smiles (and let's be honest, more excited screams).
It was not only flattering that she thought about our pictures to illustrate a little section (2 pages) in the book where they write a couple lines about their adventures creating the successful craft market, but also felt so nice to be able to be modestly part of what we already anticipated as an awesome carefully thought & made with love book.
The book is called 30 projects for the modern life (30 proyectos para la vida moderna) published by Libros Cupula and it's structure precisely is ordered around that 30 craft projects, sprinkled with some of their adventures and stories happening during those 8 years since they created Duduá, the alter ego for their craft-creativity-cool ideas. A part from the already mentioned Festivalet fair, they are behind the Crochet Guerrilla - even sometimes wearing crochet beards to reclaim more boys knitting - in Barcelona, or the monthly craft courses with the most inspiring teachers; it's encouraging to see how far some of their students have arrived.
Each one of the 30 DIY are explained step by step with illustrative and - what at least looks like, still not tried! - easy to follow pictures, covering crochet, felt, electro-textile, yarn, embroidery, cross-stitching and paper projects. As we are planning on at least trying a couple of projects in the following weeks, I will come back again with more details about how I found the instructions & how successful I achieved the project (that would be entirely my fault though :P)
We would like to end this post sharing a moodboard we created as a part of our eternal wishlist that we prepare as an anticipation of our visit to the Festivalet market next 13th and 14th of December (yes, we are that obsessed and usually go both days). Hope you like our selection! Don't forget to let us know if you have any favorite item in the comment section! We are too excited to be able to see them, touch them and get a chance to talk with the creators in a week.
That is seriously so exciting! Congratulations!
