We have been tagged by the lovely Fritha from the inspriring blog Tigerlilly Quinn to answer a few questions for the blog hop on creativity. Fritha runs a blog where she shares her daily life with her soon-to-be husband Tom and their adorable son Wilf along with her passions including decoration, illustration and fashion. We love (and admire) how she has professionalized her blog staying so true and honest.
Thanks again sweet Fritha!, now with our answers:
1. What have been the doings/makings/scribblings at your desk this week?
Definitely with a week away for our summer adventures, lots of plans and lists are on full throttle. I like to create a map with all the recommendations gathered in blogs (or comments from our own, this is new to us!) altogether with the more regular must visits from general guides. Also we think about the photography opportunities, looking for inspiration on similar sceneries, although this finally ends being much more improvised than we anticipate. And finally I like to create a list with the outfits, prioritizing comfortable and combinable clothing, that will reduce the size of our suitcase, but still keeping it cute.
We are also planning the month ahead in the blog, and have sent a cute envelope to a buddy which we put together with lots of love and sweet little details; definitely stationery and packaging is one of my guilty pleasures (Damaris talking here, Dani & Juno prefer to watch while I am on it :P)
2. Where are you currently finding your inspiration? (Influences, heroes, sources of inspiration, paths exploring)?
I think one of the most important driving forces to continue on improving our photography skills and make our blog a nicer place is the huge inspiration we are daily finding. But also the light, it may be a little too vague to say, but definitely whenever there is a ray pointing to some direction we are there trying to seize it, it makes everything look gorgeous and lifts our hearts.
Photography wise we have (beloved) heroes like our wedding photographer Marc Bordons, also (blow-away) heroes like Dylan & Sara, and (mid-photo mid-design) heroes like Amanda Jane Jones.
Blogging wise we are literally on cloud number 9 (so very 90s of me reference) because we have lots of places where we take inspiration from. To start mentioning a few, our blogiversary guests & our blog-owner readers, but also one of my all-time favorites are Carrie from Wish Wish Wish, Eleonore Bridge at Le Blog de la Méchante, the non-stop explorer Kaylah at The Dainty Squid or the beautiful Rebecca at The Clothes Horse. I should stop now. right now. or I’ll flood you with my rss list.
A part from our daily reads and Pinterest (had to mention, sorry, I am too addited not to) our travels are a fuel, we feel like children discovering new places and there it is our camera to capture that precious moment.
One new thing we are ready to experience are collaborations with inspiring minds out there, so if you have any project blogging or photography oriented give us a call! How important is being creative to you, and how do you blend this with your work / life / family balance?
Taking into account that we do have a full time job we devote our (almost all) free time to blog & photography. I have to be sincere and say it sometimes is not very easy to keep the house running, plus the work, plus having posts that we are proud of while keeping on exploring more on photography and post-processing. Mostly when I occasionally (frequently?) feel it would be great to have more time to invest in our passions, to live of what we like to do and stop feeling it as a very time-consuming (although incredibly rewarding!) hobby. However, I can’t complain because having a work that maintains our little family leaving daily time to other endeavours, right now feels like a privilege, and Juno is low-maintenance :)
We admire the creativity from lots of fellow bloggers which we are lucky to have as readers, and we already have been delighted to have some of them in our blog or joining us in a tag before. We would nominate then for this Blog Hop bloggers that are newer to us:
Almost Stylish is the crafty/fashion/foodie corner of Kati a Berliner student that happens to have a cute cat (bonus point in my book, always)
Petra is a non-stop traveller and experience gathering sharing her pictures and witty analysis at Talulaah. We know Petra for around 8 months by now but I never dare to tag since I’m not sure if that is really her thing. Since this one was about creativity maybe she can share hers, but don’t feel imposed, please! :)
lovely interview. and thanks for all the new links :)
;) xx
Awesome interview :) I’ve now got my browser full of links to look through – love finding out about new creative peeps. How exciting your holiday is so close – also I think you should be proud that you’re able to maintain and keep up your creative side along with your full time job – that is a super feat!
Thanks girl! I’m super happy for all the encouragement we receive, specially useful on that gloomy days ;)
