Hallo! We are back from our brief and impromptu trip to the cool city of Amsterdam. With merely two short days, we have only been able to scratch the surface of the city and what it can offer, but we have already fallen in love with its incredible cafés, awesome shops, dreamy streets & canals, the pitch-perfect-for-us-brick-lovers (swooning) architecture and specially with how nice the people were with us! (and with everyone else for that matter, really! you Dutch people rock)
We are right now going through all our pictures, selecting and editing, but we would like to show you in advance a little sneak peek of our Amsterdam trip; But since for this post we will only be sharing our phone pics, should we better say “Amstergram” (or #amsterdam)? ;)
Thanks for all the recommendations for the city! We tried to squeeze in as much as we could: pancakes, fresh mint tea and drops checked! Hope you enjoy this overview, very soon will come the rest of photos. I’m off to eat some kaas to continue with the picture edition!
Ready for a quick peek into our Amsterdam trip with our phone pics?
Although the former pic shows better the beauty of the city, actually my first impression of Amsterdam was here at the Science Park on work due.
Meanwhile Dani was having a “hard” time waiting for me in the coolest place ever :)
…having a fresh mint tea at Bakkerswinkel.
At our tram stop in Friederiksplein waiting to discover the city.
Wes Anderson + old movie theater + retro car, great combo, right? no doubts I was too excited ;)
We had to pay a visit at Winkel. Don’t let this pic fool you, we did not have to wait the line! ha! :) the picture was taken on our way out. Tip: arrive there before 10.
Most delicious apple tart ever, this one.
Westergasfabriek park was one of our favorite places during the sunny Saturday.
Brick buildings everywhere, our kind of place.
Our second breakfast was at Two for Joy, and Dani is playing a little photographic voyeur with the baker.
Pink awesomeness next to Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh’s and Stedelijk museums. More pictures coming soon!
Les vostres fotos del mòbil són millors que les normals de molta gent (incloses les meves :S)
Ostres, gràcies guapa! me n’alegro que t’agradin :) :)
Ooh you guys really captured the atmosphere of Amsterdam in these pictures. I love going to Amsterdam and actually, I don’t go there enough. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your visit ^^
Thanks Jill! We are head over heels with your comment, that is the nicest thing for an outsider photographer; to have been able to capture at least a little bit of the soul of the place, thanks! :)
Oh man, it’s even better to see the city I’ve been living in for so long through someone elses eyes. I really haven’t been at Museumplein for such a long time, and I almost missed that pink goodness! I’ll try to go there for a bit on my way home tomorrow, it looks gorgeous!! Thanks!
Westergasfabriek always has/hosts the best festivals and little markets. Slightly too expensive at times, but really lovely. I like the emphasis on bricks in your posts. Makes me more aware of them too. Haha. Definitely looking forward to moar!!
And again, glad you seem to have enjoyed your visit!
Oh Louise! Thanks!! :) :) Happy that you liked the pics, and that you are going to visit the pink awesomeness at Museumplein. Pity we did not see any markets at Westergasfabriek but the park itself was very peaceful and relaxing, I would love to have one like this in Barcelona as well.
Yaaaaaaaay I’m glad my capital city has treated you guys well ^__^
Great pictures as usual c: I can’t wait for more pictures, enjoy
eating your ‘kaas’ haah :P Xx
Awww thanks Mei! ♥ The city was very beautiful and with lots of cool places, and I loooved how nice every one talked to each other.
Ahh what pretty photos – makes me excited for more entries to come! I love phone pics because it’s like seeing the behind the scenes of a shoot – especially with Dani taking some sneaky (or not so sneaky) shots :) I also am crazy in love with the pink flowers and that vintage cinema and car + wes anderson + Damaris = super cute :)
I love the behind the scenes shots, but I kind of feel bad to share because I think that I may be the only one excited for them ;) thanks Fee for the love!!
uau apple tart <3 <3
aww travelling, such a good motivation for me to keep looking for a paid job!
Haha, yes the apple tart made me yell “guau”! :) travelling is also a positive thought when that paid job becomes hard, good thinking ;)
Those cherry blossoms are making me homesick again! Amsterdam is on the top of my places to visit next. I’ve only heard wonderful things about the city, and as a hardcore Verhoeven fan, a visit to his homeland is much overdue for me.
Ha! Love the Verhoeven reference! ♥
oh my goodness! so so beautiful! would love to visit here one day. looking forward to more photos from your camera!
I’m sure you’ll love it when you visit Amsterdam :) it’s a good stop if you are going to do an European tour.
